The University and Department of Nutrition

LSHTM is Britain's national school of public health and a leading postgraduate institution worldwide for research and postgraduate education in global health and nutrition.

LSHTM is committed to improving the health of populations worldwide through the pursuit of excellence in research, postgraduate teaching and advanced training and through informing policy and practice in these areas. It offers 22 taught MSc courses. It has over 1300 staff from over 60 countries; its alumni reside in over 180 countries and its current student body of >4000 students come from over 100 countries.

The Nutrition Group in the Department of Nutrition and Public Health Interventions is committed to addressing the major nutrition and food related problems that affect human development at a national and global level through their research and teaching activities. They have extensive research and teaching experience in maternal and child nutrition, nutrition and infection, micronutrient nutrition and nutrition interventions.
The improvement of complementary feeding and breastfeeding practices is a research priority. The Department has a micronutrient laboratory and IT facilities/support.

Main tasks in the project

The LSHTM is leader of WP4 (linear programming) and contributes to WP2 (data and intervention mapping), WP3 (FCT), WP5 (summarizing of data and recommendation from WP2 – WP4) and WP8 (dissimination).
